Brief history of the 175th Infantry Regiment of the Maryland National Guard which was constituted as a militia calling itself the "5th Maryland" after the American Revolution, served as the 115th Infantry Regiment, United States Army in World War I and the 175th Infantry Regiment, United States Army in World War II. The 5th Maryland was reorganized in 1946 as the 175th Infantry Regiment, Maryland National Guard.
